| 520 | ## | $a The doctoral thesis deals with mechanical properties of a capacitor with asymmetrical electrodes and their influence on the force originating on this capacitor while it is connected to high voltage. In the first part of the thesis the history and current state of the research of this phenomenon is given.; In the next part possible methods of measuring are discussed and the most appropriate is selected. A default design of a capacitor allowing independent changes of its dimensions is chosen. These are then changed during the following measurements and the influence of these changes on the resulting force is investigated. The negative impact of an air flow generated around the capacitor concurrently with the force is also discussed.; To eliminate this, a new asymmetrical capacitor was built. Unlike the fist one, which has a solid large electrode, the large electrode of this new device is formed by a wire mesh, which does not hinder the neutral air flow. The new capacitor is then measured and the validity of its use is verified. In the last part of the thesis a description of impact of dimension changes on both capacitors is derived and a set of instructions to maximize the generated force is stated. |
